Mr., Mrs. Henry Droll observe 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Droll, Kansas City, Mo., will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 27, 2012.

They were married by the Rev. Alphonsus Manley at Mater Dolorosa Church. They are members of Visitation Church, Kansas City.

Mrs. Droll, the former Mary Campana, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Luigia Pittaniello and Potito Campana. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1940, Marywood University, Scranton, in 1944 and George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 1951. She retired in 1992 from Park Lane Hospital, Raytown, Mo., as a medical technologist.

Mr. Droll, a native of New York City is the son of the late Marion Bereis and Henry Droll. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1944. He received a bachelor's degree in 1947 and a master's degree in 1949 from George Washington University, and a doctorate degree from Penn State University in 1951. He retired in 1988 from University of Missouri, Kansas City, as a chemistry professor. He served in the Navy during World War II as a medic.

They are the parents of four daughters, Mary Droll Feighny, Topeka, Kan.; Christine Droll Goff, Kansas City; Katherine, Eugene, Ore.; and Eleanor Droll Minda, Austin, Texas; and a son, the late Henry Droll.

There are four grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a family diner was held Oct. 13 at Grunauer's Restaurant, Kansas City.
