Michael E. Thompson, 43, of Fallon, Nev., passed on Nov. 16, 2012, at Renown Hospital in Reno. He was born in Williamsport, Pa., on Jan. 28, 1969. He attended schools and graduated from South Williamsport High School. He served in the U.S Air Force and was a veteran of Desert Storm.
He was a member of St. Lawrence R.C. church and served as an alter boy and also played basketball for the church. Michael was involved in Boy Scouts as well as the Pop Warner football.
He moved to Nevada in 1993. He worked for SMI Steel since 1997 until they closed their doors in 2010 and then went on to work for New Millennium Steel as the sales supervisor.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hailey K. Pearce and brother, Christopher Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal A. Thompson; his father, Carl M. Thompson Jr. of Temple, Texas; his mother, Sandra L. (Karney) Thompson of South Williamsport, Pa.; his daughter, Cheryl K. Pearce of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Mark A. Thompson of South Williamsport and John E. Thompson of Williamsport, Pa. He also left behind several stepchildren, Jamie Weaver, Jeffery and Angela Guthrie, Josh Guthrie and granddaughter, Kaylin Guthrie. Michael also had several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr. Fallon, NV 89406. 775-423-2255
