Williamsport Sun-Gazette

David Eric Yagel, 53, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Nov. 13, 2012.

Born July 10, 1959, in Muncy, Pa., he was the son of the late Maxine and Lynn Yagel.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sue; their three children: daughters, Aaron and Shanda and husband Daniel, and son, Eric; as well as beloved dog Ginger. He is also survived by a brother, Don of Muncy, his wife Theresa and sons; and a sister, Sue of Hatfield, Pa., and her life partner, Joan.

David attended Muncy High School and graduated from Loyalsock High School in 1977. He was employed in the quality control department of GE Oil and Gas, Houston. In addition to being a devoted husband and father, David was an avid beer connoisseur who loved blues music and cooking up some good food. At his memorial service, Dave was remembered fondly for his wit, integrity, helpfulness and fun-loving spirit. He was a guy you could count on, but who didn't take life too seriously.

To acknowledge Dave's impact, including his efforts in establishing the community dog park, the park is being renamed in his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to help with expenses. Donations can be sent to: Sue Yagel, 9810 Appleridge Drive, Houston, Texas 77070.

Submitted by family.
