So, the dispute between our legislators amounts to raising top wage earners bracket 4.4 percent, affecting 1.5 percent of the USA taxpayers.
And not raising taxes on 160 million taxpayers in the lower tax brackets.
The Republicans argue the 1.5 percent taxpayers are the job creators. Where are all the new jobs since receiving 4.4 percent Bush tax reduction in 2003?
Politicians and special interests are demanding that the deficit be reduced dramatically paid for by deep cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to guarantee more big tax breaks for the wealthy. It's outrageous and immoral.
Let us not forget that Social Security does not, and cannot by law, contribute to the federal deficit it should not be linked to broad budget discussions or scapegoated in this way.
