Virginia W. MacIndoe, 91, of 327 Adams St., Williamsport, died on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. MacIndoe who passed away on Dec. 29, 2001.
Virginia was born July 15, 1921, in Shamokin and was the daughter of Albert and Edythe Graber Wetzel.
She was a 1939 graduate of Shamokin High School.
She was a member of Williamsport Home Bible Fellowship. Virginia was cofounder of Williamsport Bicycle Club. Virginia was an avid bicyclist. The most important part of her life was her Saviour Jesus Christ. Virginia began an active search for truth in her early twenties. It was then when she learned of her need for a Saviour and that Jesus' death and resurrection was payment for her sins. What a freedom it was for her to realize that Salvation was a free gift from God and entry into heaven could not be gained or lost by her own human efforts. Virginia is in Heaven now with her Saviour and husband because of Gods grace. Virginia's respect and belief in God's Word made her the most wonderful, loving and kind mother and grandmother a family could be blessed with. Virginia loved each of her children with all her heart. She was equally and lovingly devoted to her spiritual family.
She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie (Marlin) Adams, Eagles Mere, Heather (Dennis) Rearick, Jersey Shore, Becky (Tom) Lyons, Williamsport, Virginia Derr, Cogan Station; a sister, Gloria Devoe, Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Gary Adams, Greg Adams, Louis Goins III, Amy Green, Beth Lyons, Alicia Waldrab, Caleb Derr; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in Wildwood Cemetery with Ian Missien officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests that memorial contributions in Virginia's name be made to the Susquehanna Home Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
