Clarence R. Deaver

Clarence R. "Dean" Deaver, 87, U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Clarence was born July 1, 1925, in Aullville, Mo. He was past commander of VFW Post 6957, and held other numerous local and state offices.

Viewing and visitation will take place 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 5 to 7 at Old Mission Mortuary, Wichita, Kan. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, at Haysville United Methodist Church. Burial with Military Honors in Old Mission Cemetery at 2 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura D. Deaver; parents, Clarence Joel and Purna Alice (Davis) Deaver; brother, Robert; sisters, Emma and Ruth. Survived by a daughter, Sally (Gail) Klinginsmith; sons, Michael (Tammy) Deaver, Clarence W. (Patricia) Deaver; brother, Donald (Beulah) Deaver; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the VFW Post No. 6957 in care of Old Mission Mortuary, 3424 E. 21st St., Wichita, KS 67208.
