Carl M. Roan, 74, of 213 Harvest Moon Park, Linden, formerly of the Roaring Branch area, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at The Gatehouse Hospice surrounded by his family.
Carl and his wife, the former Joyce I. Witmyer, would have observed their 54th wedding anniversary on Jan. 17, 2013.
Carl retired in 2001 as a self-employed furniture refinisher. He was a life member of the Red Run Rod and Gun Club, Ralston, and enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Snuggles.
Born Dec. 14, 1937, in Williamsport, he was the son of Robert W. and Sylvia (Cohick) Roan.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Scott M. (Phyllis) of Linden, Jeffrey A. (Linda) of Cogan Station and Carl "Rusty" R. of Williamsport; daughter, Sherri L. (David) Stahl of Turbotville; brothers, Richard of Williamsport, Charles in Florida and Donald of Liberty; sister, Helen McCarty of DuBoistown; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Carl was predeceased by a brother, Robert Roan.
Family and friends are invited to a Life Celebration Gathering on Wednesday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heller's Family Restaurant, 1941 Lycoming Creek Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name may be made to The Gatehouse Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
