Joseph A. Shangraw, 84, of 1733 Lincoln Drive, Loyalsock Township, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 6, 1928, in Williamsport, the son of John E. and M. Grace Truax Shangraw.
Joseph was a Korean War Army veteran and retired from the former E. Keeler Company. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Lodge No. 106 F&AM, the Williamsport Consistory and he loved his grandchildren. Joseph enjoyed antique cars, antique glassware, garage sales and loved his dachshund, Chelsea.

He was predeceased by his sister, Laura Gehret.
Joseph is survived by his wife, the former June A. Fye, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage; a daughter, Debra J. Shangraw of Pine Creek; two sisters, Ida Jo (Robert) Shuman of Nesbit and Yvonne (Paul) Miller of Denver, Colo., and three grandchildren, Matthew Joseph, Mariah Nichole and Ashley Marie Sortman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, with Rev. Paul C. Fontanella as celebrant. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, with Military Rites accorded by the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans. Friends may call Wednesday evening at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, from 6 to 8 p.m.
