Grace H. Emery, 99, a resident of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the Spring Mill Presbyterian Village at Lafayette Hill, Pa. Born in Montgomery, Lycoming County, Pa., on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Franklin R. and Sarah (Barto) LaForme.
She was the widow of Edson H. Emery who preceded her in death on June 2, 1975. Grace was retired from the former Isaac C. Decker, Inc. at Montgomery.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery. Grace was a skillful needle woman and especially enjoyed raising and caring for her houseplants. She graciously assisted her family and friends with whatever task was at hand.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Audrey E. Bohr, Philadelphia, Pa.; two grandsons, Christopher Bohr, Philadelphia, Pa., Benjamin Bohr, Mont Clare, Pa.; and one brother, Lewis LaForme, Allenwood. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Grace was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas LaForme, Wells LaForme, Fred LaForme, twins, George and William LaForme and by three sisters, Ellen Reese, Margaret Sealy and Emma Nuss.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, with Reverend Viking E. Dietrich, pastor of St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 40 E. Houston Ave., Montgomery.
