A 29-year-old woman caught allegedly shoplifting at Kmart on East Third Street told a state trooper that "getting arrested maybe a good thing because it will force me to get my life in order," according to Trooper Gary Beadle.
Brittany Lyn Snauffer, of 2402 1/2 W. Fourth St., was nabbed trying to leave the store at 1915 E. Third St., with $89 worth of merchandise about 3 p.m. on Oct. 11, Beadle said.
In her possession, Snauffer had two pairs of pants, a bracelet and a pair of earrings and disposible razors, Beadle said.
Admitting that things had been "financially difficult" for her, Snauffer she had gone to Kmart to get a new outfit, Beadle said. It is her second shoplifting offense.
Following her recent arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge, Snauffer was released on $2,500 bail.
