The Salvation Army Santa Fund

Santa's helper's story

December 6, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Dear Santa,

I laughed as a co-worker told her son that she works at "Santa's Workshop." During the Christmas season it certainly feels like it.

With the outpouring of donations and toys distributed through The Salvation Army from "Toys for Tots," it's easy to feel the Christmas spirit.

But then there are times when the reality of poverty is so apparent - a parent humbly asking for assistance to allow their child to have a happy Christmas, the desperate person trying to make ends meet and living paycheck to paycheck, and someone asking for help just to get through the cold winter.

The Salvation Army strives to make the holiday season a little brighter, a little warmer and a little happier for each person who walks through our doors.

Though it may feel for a season like your workshop, Santa, the reality is that the needs extend far beyond Christmas.

The Salvation Army strives to continue to do the most good all year long.

Merry Christmas,

Amy
