Catherine E. Gramlich, born Feb. 13, 1917, died peacefully at Coleman House in Mass., on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Her parents were Alois and Frances (Ritter) Thaler. She was married 58 years to Anthony who predeceased her in 1998. She was also predeceased by daughter, Kathy and brothers, Walter and Carl.
Catherine was a graduate of Williamsport High School, class of '35, and a graduate of a secretarial school in town. She was employed at C.A. Reed and Williamsport school system as a secretary.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Antonia (Tony) Mineo of Lakewood, Colo.; son, Charles (Samata) of Fallsburg, N.Y. and Gloria (Rick) Harrison of Stow, Mass. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Michael, Cheryl, Chris, Jennifer, Kristina and Gregory; and eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margie Thaler; and several nieces and nephews. And her much loved cat Sweetie.
She enjoyed being with friends and family, playing cards, and was a wonderful seamstress.
She was an active volunteer at St. Boniface Church where she was a lifelong parishioner.
Catherine was a Eucharistic minister, and member of Divine Providence auxiliary.
Catherine volunteered many years at a local nursing home. She enjoyed going to plays and many trips with the Top of the Hill Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Church on Monday, Dec. 10, at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Pa., or the Coleman House activity fund, 112 W. Main St., Northboro, MA 01532, where Mom was a much loved resident for over three years, or a charity of your choice.
