MANSFIELD - Anthony M. Edwards, 25, of Philadelphia, was charged by Mansfield University police with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief following an incident in a Laurel Manor dorm room on Dec. 12.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, police were called to investigate a report of a fight at Laurel Manor, and as police entered the sixth floor they reported hearing a female, later identified as Kyanah Cole, of Room 610A, screaming "get him out of my room."
Edwards exited the room at that point and threw a laptop against the wall among a group of people, causing it to shatter. He started pushing police as they tried to separate him from the woman who was shouting, "get away from me, I didn't do nothing."
He continued to struggle with police after he was placed under arrest and taken down the stairwell.
Cole told police she and Edwards had been arguing in her room when he smashed her laptop into the wall, and she told him to leave continuously.
He was released on $2,000 bail and his preliminary hearing held Wednesday. His county court date was set for Jan. 7.
