Dear Santa,
May I just tell you about some of the generosity of our community, Santa?
Everyday there are people who call our office asking what they can do or give to make this Christmas season a little brighter for those less fortunate.
In November, we had people bring in turkeys (with all the trimmings!); donate new clothing - pajamas, coats, etc.; and drop off monetary donations.
Besides giving tangible gifts, we've had those who give their time by serving in our food bank, helping to gather toys and food to distribute, and standing in the cold to ring at the kettle bells. We are so blessed!
One of my favorite ways people give is to adopt a family at Christmas. People or companies contact me to get wish lists and clothing sizes for families who are struggling during this season.
Santa, you know the joy of giving and it is truly seen every day our offices are open at The Salvation Army.
Yes, gifts come in all shapes and sizes and they can be as simple as a little prayer of gratitude.
Thanks Santa,
Amy
