Jesus is the source of your supply

December 8, 2012
By the Rev. DANESTA WHALEY Special to the Sun-Gazette , Williamsport Sun-Gazette

What are you in need of today, Beloved Ones? Whatever it is, Jesus is the Source of your supply. I am so glad that He is the source, aren't you? Yes, He uses people like you and me to work through, but the bottom line is that it all comes from Him. The Bible declares in James 1:17 that "every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above."

There are many times that I just get a kick out of how the Lord provides for me. As He uses many people in my sphere to reach out and provide in various ways, I am truly grateful to them. But I recognize it really came directly from Him. I recognize that He is the source.

As our great supplier it means that He provides for us what is needed or what is lacking. He fills and occupies any vacancies. He replenishes and fulfills, and He is our reserve. Not just a little. He supplies in abundance - a heap, a truckload! Get the picture? He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is the source!

Take note in Philippians 4:19: "And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Amplified)."

He supplies every need. He knows what you need, when you need it, and as you look to Him as the Great Supplier, He meets the need you have, filling to the full. The scripture reads "need" and not "needs." Unlike us, our Lord visualizes it just as one need, and He will supply! He is Jehovah-jireh from Genesis. which means "He sees the need" and provides for it. He saw the need when Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac up as an offering, and God provided a ram instead. The great provision at the time of need was recognized and God came through once again as the source!

Perhaps you have a need for companionship, friendship, a physical need, a monetary need. ... Whatever the need, He can fulfill it. You can be sure He can be depended upon. When we are looking to others to come through and they fail, God will never fail. That is why we must look to Him as our source. And really, let's face it, beloved ones, our real need is the great supplier Himself, Jesus Christ.

When we really search for Him with everything within us, all these other "things," these other needs, will be met: the need to be more like Him, the need that more of His ways and His Love be poured out to others. Yes, as we heed His example, our "need" that we had is suddenly taken care of! Be encouraged today that no matter how great your need may be, your great supplier, Jesus, is right here, right now just waiting to fill it.
