This year's Lycoming County United Way fundraising campaign needs people to step forward if it is to be successful.
The most recent announcement had the campaign collection at $759,443, well short of the target of $1.7 million.
That just won't do, given the needs served by the United Way monies. The United Way funds 38 human services program.
Everyone from the elderly to infants is served through this fundraising effort. Programs geared to battle illiteracy and domestic violence are funded by the giving. Help in emergencies and help with the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter all benefit from the campaign.
This is a chance for everyone in Lycoming County fortunate enough to have a job and a reasonable way of life to make an impact on fellow residents with a variety of needs.
Don't miss the opportunity to do something special.
