The solution to Williamsport's problem on the fire department is to go regional with a countywide department. If they are interested.
Start by turning it over to the county and put paid firemen in different parts of the county. I would put paid firemen say Muncy to cover the lower part, put paid firemen in the Jersey Shore area to cover that and keep the Williamsport firemen in that area.
That way we could have early coverage andback them with the volunteers. When we need more paid firemen we could draw them from volunteers who are already trained.
