After reading "Taxpayers File Petition, want Answers" referencing the Jersey Shore School Board meeting Nov. 27, I have to question why the writer of the article was biased in his reporting? It was made aware to the public by our solicitor Austin White that with following Robert's Rules of Order, those from the floor may only address the president. We as board members are not given the opportunity to address the floor unless we ask permission from the chair and that is made at his discretion.
However, I did address the board from the floor as a parent and taxpayer. I addressed my questions because I hadn't received answers.
I take note that the countless hours spent by many board members and Dr. Chappel's 20-minute power-point presentation to the rewording of Policy 227 wasn't worthy enough to print. However, two years ago when the JSASD found itself in Lycoming County Court being fought by some of its own students to not uphold that policy, it was widely covered by the Sun-Gazette.
