With the time for college final exams upon us, ponder, if you will, this test question from Political Science 101.
Party A holds the Presidency and controls the Senate. Party B controls the House of Representatives. The country faces an economic disaster if a needed bill is not passed but Parties A and B are far apart on their positions on the matter and a compromise will be necessary if the needed bill is to pass. Party A knows that it has the support of the press and electronic media on the issue and a Pew Research poll indicates that 53 percent of the public will hold Party B responsible if the bill does not pass and the economic disaster occurs.
List and support reasons Party A should compromise on the issue.
