Taxes, no taxes, God, no God?

December 10, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Those are tough questions. With taxes we could pay off a lot of the country's debt, save social security for seniors like myself, help those who cannot,(not those who will not), and those with a mental or physical disability. As for God, our Constitution was imagined from the faith and love of God that our ancestors were taught and believed.

However, with taxes; if we keep on spending then this nation will be no better off than it has been. Our government needs to bring businesses back in this country and put those to work who collect welfare and food stamps. Okay, I hear you. Most will not make enough money to go without help from our government. True. But if these same people were put to work then they would be paying back some of what has been given to them.

Private Citizens must show tough love, too. We must teach the children if they receive then they must pay back, be held responsible for their actions and above all, they must become independent and not depend on others for their support.

As mentioned above, those who are honestly disabled, then we who are whole must thank God and give back some of what God has so graciously given to us.

Whoops, I am not supposed to mention God! At least that is what many of our schools are doing, as well as businesses, the government, and Atheists. What is happening to our Constitution?

I do not object that some do not believe in God. However, I am concerned that those who are trying to push out God wish to be dictators, are overbearing controlling individuals whose motive is "Our Way or the Highway!" We faithful people will never stop thanking God nor try to stop anybody from believing the way they wish.

However, believing that we are more important than others and that others are not worthy individuals because they disagree with us, a different religion, or an Atheist, then we have lost and will never know the rewards of true happiness.
