MU Council of Trustees honors interim president

MANSFIELD - The Mansfield University Council of Trustees honored Interim President Allan Golden at their regular bi-monthly meeting Nov. 28.

This was Golden's last meeting before leaving the university Dec. 31.

Ralph Meyer, chair of the Council of Trustees, introduced a resolution praising Golden for efforts on behalf of the university and the greater Mansfield community during his year as interim president and the year he spent as interim vice president for finance and administration prior to that.

In conclusion, the resolution reads, "Therefore be it resolved on this 28th day of November, 2012 that the Mansfield University Council of Trustees hereby expresses on behalf of the entire Mansfield campus community, its sincere appreciation to Dr. Allan J. Golden for his exemplary service and extraordinary contributions to Mansfield University and wish him well in his future endeavors."

Golden thanked the Trustees for their support and how much he has appreciated the opportunity to serve MU. "Thank you for an incredible experience," he said.

Earlier in the day Thursday, the Council of Trustees hosted a reception for the campus and greater Mansfield communities in Golden's honor.

Air Force Brigadier General Francis L. Hendricks, a 1979 Mansfield graduate, has been named MU's new president and will assume the office Jan. 1.
