The toy train gift

December 16, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

You know it's getting close to Christmas when the annual Toy Train Expo chugs into town. Recently, the 22nd edition of the Expo, renamed for it's late founder, Will Huffman, filled Park Place with the sights, sounds, and smells from dozens of toy trains on a variety of unique layouts. A "trainload of thanks" goes to the many dedicated exhibitors, volunteers, donors, and sponsors who make this family event possible.

First off, a very special thank you to everyone at Park Place for hosting the Expo, especially Pat Russell, Fran Visco, Tony Visco, and Rick Miller.

Our exhibitors and volunteers deserve a round of applause. We appreciate our corporate donors and advertising sponsors. We're grateful for the newspaper coverage of the Sun-Gazette.

We thank the hundreds of visitors to the Expo and were glad to provide them with a chance to "relive a less complicated world of wonder and nostalgia."

It has been a privilege to continue The Will Huffman Toy Train Expo in honor of our father's vision for the event: "A gift for the community for children of all ages." We look forward to seeing you again next year!
