Outlaws lose at Dayton

The Dayton Demonz came close to giving away a four-goal lead to the Williamsport Outlaws, but did just enough to escape with a 7-5 victory Friday night in Dayton, Ohio.

The largest advantage in the game came when the Demonz's Ahmed Mahfouz's scored at 7:24 in the second period to put Dayton up 5-1.

Nicholas Petriello was all over the ice for the Demonz, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Petriello scored 9:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jason Hill assisted on the tally.

Dayton put 45 shots on net during the contest, more than the 34.7 it averages per game.

Williamsport relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Robert Sich, Matthew Puntureri and Jeff Winchester took 16 of the team's 28 shots.

Williamsport additionally got points from Trevor Karasiewicz, who also had one goal and two assists. Nick Vandenbeld also scored for Williamsport. Other players who recorded assists for Williamsport were Martin Moucha and Brett Needham, who contributed one a piece.
