Lamar H. Sausser, 84, of 43 Lamar Lane, Montoursville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at his residence. He was born March 8, 1928, in Ashland, Pa., a son of Clinton and Catherine McSurdy Sausser.
Lamar graduated from Bloomsburg University, and retired from Central Columbia School District where he taught the sixth grade. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0434, the V.F.W. Post 7654, and the 40 et8, and loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kathy Jo Flick; three sons, Kenneth (Linda) and Randall (Tammy), both of Frackville, Ronald (Michelle) of Reading; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Kate, Randall, Tiana, Dakota and Conner; and a great-granddaughter, Maladia.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. David B. Letscher officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded by Lycoming Co. Korean War Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
