Hello Santa,
We live in a world of need. I am sure glad you are around.
Capt. Chas Engel, commanding officer of the Williamsport Salvation Army, recently was sent to help the families in need after Hurricane Sandy devastated the East Coast.
Upon his return, he talked about the hundreds upon hundreds of meals The Salvation Army distributed to families in need, as well as meals to the many rescue workers. It is good to know that The Salvation Army is able to go to local, national and worldwide disasters and be an organization able to help.
I read a follow-up story about when the families were finally able to return to their homes to see first-hand what was left, the first thing many of the families looked for were photos and photo albums of their family and friends, hoping that these treasures were not destroyed.
You learn quickly when tragedy enters your life what truly is important is loved ones. Houses and cars and things can be rebuilt and bought again, but our relationship of family and friends are indeed special.
As we await your special day, may we remember the reason for the Christmas season and be a special blessing to our family and friends.
Talk to you again soon.
Sincerely,
Albert
