Lloyd D. Hampton, 83, of 118 Sandy Lane, Stroudsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his residence.
Born Feb. 26, 1929, in Hagler, Ark., he was a son of the late Albert and Evalee (Peters) Hampton. On Feb. 18, 1955, he married the former Sara K. Little, with whom he shared 39 years until her death on June 6, 1994.
A 1949 graduate of Stattgart High School in Arkansas, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. For 36 years he worked as a welder with Local 798, Tulsa, Okla., and retired in 1991.

VETERAN
Lloyd was a member of the Pocono Masonic Lodge No. 780 in Cresco. He loved hunting, fishing, and family.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, David L. and Barbara Hampton of Wind Gap, Stephen M. and Karen Hampton of Bethlehem, and James E. and Dawn Hampton of Atwood, Kan.; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Abney of Magnolia, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Judith A. Skoutelas.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be Pastor Frank Terhune of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Penn Argyl. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
