As the fall semester was winding down, Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball teams both lost their non-conference games on Saturday.
Penn College outscored host Berkeley, N.J., College by nine points in the second half, but a 37-21 halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the Wildcats dropped a 67-60 decision and fell to 1-10 on the season. Colton Acorn led the Penn College offense with 15 points. The Wildcats won the war on the boards with a 50-30 edge in rebounds. Parrish Wragg pulled down eight caroms for Penn College.
Stepping up against NCAA Division III Elmira, N.Y., College, the host team broke away in the second half and handed the Wildcats a 63-42 loss that evened their overall record at 5-5. South Williamsport sisters Jamie and Kierstin Steer led the Penn College offense with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Dana Reed hauled in a team-high seven rebounds for the Wildcats.
