James K. Brobst, 87, of South Williamsport, died Dec. 16, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center ER.
He was born in Williamsport on Dec. 27, 1924, the son of Kenneth C. and Mary McKenna Brobst.
Jim was a 1942 graduate of St. Joseph's High School, after graduation he was employed at the PA Ordinance Works and was a graduate of Penn State College of War Mobilization. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1947 and was active duty reserve until 1951. While serving in the reserve, he attended Lycoming College and graduated from there in 1950.

VETERAN
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, a member of the Knight of Columbus council No. 366 and a fourth degree member of the Father Reichsteiner Assemble.
He retired in 1990 after 42 years at Textron.
He and his wife, the former Annabelle M. McHale, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on May 26, 2012.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Dr. William D. Brobst and his wife, Dr. Susan Brobst of Germantown, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish with burial to follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church portico from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 711 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
