Mabelina Caschera Marseco, 89, of Williamsport, died at home Dec. 17, 2012.
Born Feb. 14, 1923, Williamsport, Pa., to the late Carlo and Teresa Caschera, she was predeceased by her husband Frank F. Marseco, who died July 26, 1993, (son of Anthony and Antoinette Marseco, Old Forge, Pa.) and by her three siblings, Amedina, Michael, and Salvatore.
Mabelina was a kind and giving soul, always young at heart and dearly loved by family and friends. She had a passion for handicrafts and was gifted at tatting, knitting, crocheting and other crafts. She was a member of the Williamsport VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
She was employed at the Williamsport Hospital until 1995 and continued working there as a volunteer until her death. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and a former member of Mater Dolorosa Church.
She is survived by daughter, Donna and husband Robert Berrigan, State College, Pa., son Ronald and wife Helen (Fogel) Marseco, Fla.; and son, Richard and wife, Mary (Mitchell) Marseco, Silver Springs, Fla. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Brendan and Colleen Berrigan and Michael, Vincenzo and Donna Marseco; three great-grandchildren, Courtney Berrigan and Carter and Kelsey Marseco; a great-great-grandson, Brantley Berrigan and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St. Williamsport, with internment to follow at Mount Carmel of Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
