Genevieve A. Koch Reidy, 90, formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in Aurora, Ill., where she had lived with her son.
She was a beloved and wonderful mom, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Born Jan. 4, 1922, in Montoursville, she was the daughter of John and Florence (Neff) Koch. She was preceded in death by her husband Murray W. "Buddy" Reidy in 1964.
She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family, and fussing over them when they visited was her greatest pleasure. She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She also found time to garden, can fruits and vegetables as well as knit mittens and hats for grandchildren.
Genevieve was a loving mother to six children who all thought of her as amazing, Demeris Haag (Rick) of New York, Jerome Reidy of Illinois, Linda Schreiber (Jack) of California, Trish Hafer (Rich) of Jersey Shore, Deb Nelson (Steve) of Maryland, and John Reidy (Mary Anne Chesnut) of New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Koch of Muncy, and a sister, Betty Young of Elimsport.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, (her birthday) at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
