State police are remaining tight-lipped regarding a robbery that took place at Kwick Mart, 1810 Northway Road in Loyalsock Township, just before 8 p.m. on Saturday.

According to reports, a black male in his early 20s entered the Kwick Mart just before 8 p.m. and pulled out a handgun. He walked to the counter and demanded cash from the store clerk, who emptied the register.

Afterward, the man fled the store in an unknown direction.

"At this time there isn't much we can say because the incident is still under investigation," said Trooper T. R. Havens. "An amount of cash was taken. I'm not willing to disclose exactly how much at this point."

The suspect is described as an African-American male in his early 20s who weighs between 109 and 140 pounds. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and ski mask.

Anyone with information regarding the incident has been asked to contact state police at 368-5700.
