Mrs. Mary Jane Daughenbaugh, 86, of Montoursville, passed away at her home on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.
Mary was born on Sept. 2, 1926, at Montandon, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Abram and Meda Faye (Williams) Fairchild.
She and her husband, Donald A. Daughenbaugh, were married on March 30, 1960. Together they shared sixty two years of marriage.
Mary was the valedictorian of her high school class and a graduate from Bucknell University. Mary taught English and mathematics as a career teacher at Thompsontown and South Williamsport, Pa.
Mary was a very active and longtime member of the South Williamsport United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She has been a member subsequently of the Faith United Methodist Church at Montoursville.
Mary enjoyed bridge, mahjong, square dancing, oil painting, knitting, sewing, and fly fishing. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mary was also a former Miss PA Dairy Queen.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald Daughenbaugh, of Montoursville; her daughter Kim Fairchild, of Alexandria, Va.; and one grandson Jean-Luc A. Maigrot, of Alexandria, Va.
Funeral services for Mary Jane Daughenbaugh will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport, Pa., with the Rev. Larry L. Leland Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow the services at Oak Lawn & Christian Hill Cemetery, Warrensville, Pa.
The family will provide floral tributes and requests that contributions in memory of Mary Jane Daughenbaugh be made, if so desired, to the American Heart Association, 228 Russell Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
