Thomas F. Baker, 92, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro. He was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Holiday, Pa., a son of Earl and Bessie (Baker) Baker. Thomas retired from Corning Glass as a machinist. He was a US Army veteran having served during World War II. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, making bookcases and baking.
Thomas is survived by a son-in-law, Flynn Boyden, of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Kim Ann (Fred) Bolt, Teresa Ann (Eric) Cowan, Thomas Dana (Liz) Tracy; four great-grandchildren, Nicole Kay (Dan Wilson) Hemenway, Deven Thomas Tracy, Kaydance Marie Tracy, Richelle Keaton Cowan; a great-great-grandson, Lee Thomas Wilson to be born in May 2013; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Noreen Baker of Wellsboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverly Schmidt of Florida; Peg and Bill Lotter of Tioga. He was predeceased by his wife, whom he was married to for 59 years, Mary E. (Whithouse) Baker in 2005; a daughter, Patricia Boyden on May 12, 2011; an infant son in 1950; a brother, James Baker in 2003; a sister, Beatrice Fleitstra in 1995, and a brother, Junie Baker.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Dressler officiating.
