MANSFIELD - John H. Brockington Jr. 19, of Charlotte, N.C., was charged by Mansfield University police with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly went into a student's room and removed a video game console.

According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, Brockington went into an unlocked room in Maple Dormitory on Dec. 18. The console was valued at $300 and belonged to Michael Kline.

Police said video showed Brockington taking the item out of the room.

The accused allegedly admitted taking the item in order to sell it.

He was released after posting $2,000 bail and waived his Wednesday preliminary hearing.
