WELLSBORO - Elwin L. Makley, 33, of 2435 Welch Mountain Road, Covington, was charged by state police with theft by deception recently for allegedly taking money for firewood and failing to deliver the wood as promised.
According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard's office. Makely took $600 from the victim but failed to deliver it to 49 Nuttenburg Lane on July 23.
He was issued a summons to appear at a Jan. 8 preliminary hearing.
