This is a morning when faith takes over.
Christmas, as observed by many of us, validates the soul in all of us. But the spirit that prevails today need not be limited to the traditional Christian celebration.
There's no reason the spirit that we build around this day can't be transferrable in non-traditional ways. There's no reason it can't be expanded beyond the borders of Dec. 25.
For the sake of our society, we need that.
This is a world wracked by violence and stress and emotional turmoil from a pace of life that seems to be wratcheted up to a dangerously high level.
Lost in the spin, we forget what gives us strength faith. That faith shows itself in the religion we practice, the friends and family we lean on, the home where we gain daily comfort, the workplace that serves as our home away from home, the organizations we dedicate ourselves to.
Without any of those things, there's a likelihood that we live lives without significant meaning.
Today would be a fitting day for all of us to search our hearts for the spirit and faith that will make this world a better place for ourselves and everyone we interact with.
