A 56-year-old homeless man jailed earlier this month following a disturbance at Wegmans was found dead late Saturday night in his cell at the Lycoming County Prison, according to Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr.
Kiessling said Sunday that it appeared that inmate Roger Fontaine died of natural causes.
Fontaine, who had been in and out of jail multiple times, had been incarcerated since Dec. 16 when he refused to leave the supermarket at 201 William St. and smashed a $17 potted plant, city police alleged.
