Janet M. McQueen Warner, 77, of 1300 Elliott St., Williamsport, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at home. She and her husband George Warner celebrated 56 years of marriage on May 5.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1935, in Tully, N.Y., and was the daughter of George and Marion Desaine McQueen. George McQueen came to this country from Scotland.
Janet was a 1954 graduate of Tully High School and a 1956 graduate of Mohawk Valley Technical Institute. In her spare time from being a Home Economics Engineer (mother), she was an artist who loved to paint the mountains with old style homes. She made several wedding gowns for her granddaughters. She loved to read and every summer had her garden. She was a member of the Amity Women's Group.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Wayne is in Idaho, Mark is in Maryland and Craig is in Ohio; a brother, George lives in Syracuse, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 20 plus great-grandchildren, who live all over the country.
She will be missed by everyone in her family.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Janet's name be made to Kathryn C. Lundy Breast Health Center, Providence Health System Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
