Albright LIFE, the area's only Adult Day Health Center, 901 Memorial Ave., recently hosted the facility's annual Top Dessert Chef Competition to benefit the Lycoming County United Way.
Culinary experts from local nursing care and senior living facilities created exquisite desserts, and the public voted on the top three. New this year was a diabetic friendly class of desserts.
The 2012 winners of Albright LIFE's Top Dessert Chef Competition were: Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville, mascarpone cheesecake with a cranberry balsamic glaze, first place; RiverWoods Senior Living Community, Lewisburg, peanut butter cheesecake, second place; and The Williamsport Home, pumpkin praline trifles, third place.
Winners of the diabetic friendly dessert class were Hillside Senior Living, warm autumn dowdy, first place; Rose View Court Senior Living, homemade apple dumplings, second place; and Valley View Nursing Center, marscarpone cheesecake with cranberry balsamaic glaze, third place.
In addition to the delicious desserts, Albright LIFE also raffled off themed baskets during the event.
