Henry W. Colling

Henry W. "Hank" Colling, 71, of Williamsport, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his home.

Hank was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Teaneck, N.J., to Frank and Marie (Drummer) Colling. He married Mary McAtee on April 29, 1973. and the two spent 39 years together.

Hank was part of the first graduating class of 1959 from Bergen Catholic High School in Paramus, N.J. He served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service. Hank had been a member of Our Lady of Fatima First Saturday Club Since 1967. He retired from the former NJ Bell telephone company after more than 45 years of work. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served for several years as the President of the Board for the Center for Independent Living, he was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans Association, the Spinal Cord Society, the United States Submarine Veterans, and the International Submariners Association. He is a parishioner at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Williamsport, Pa.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, are five children, Patricia (Jim) Anderson of Toledo, Ohio, Christopher Colling of San Diego, Calif., Brian (Stephanie) Colling of San Diego, Calif., Mary Anne (Charles Plummer) Colling of South Williamsport, and Jacinta (Nathan) Hallman of Sunbury; 16 grandchildren, Christopher Michael, Colleen, Cassidy, Caia, Zoe, Wyatt, Katherine, Madeline, Charles Henry, Caleb, Bailey, Max, Keira, Elaina, Karissa, and Zachary; and seven siblings, Frank (Barbara) Colling of N.C., Mary Jane (Rick) Wisneski of N.J., Vincent (Cathy) Colling of N.Y., Edward (JoAnn) Colling of NC, William (Pamela) Colling of N.J., Dorothy (Bill) Meyer of N.C., and Cecelia (Edward) Neri of N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery. A wake will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish Fleming Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hank's name may be made to Apostolate for Family Consecration, 3375 County Route 36, Bloomingdale, OH 43910 or Family Honor, Inc., 2927 Devine St., Suite 130, Columbia, SC 29205.
