A Muncy woman faces charges after allegedly removing a painting from her mother's home.
Dianne Lynne Miller, 47, of 2729 Lycoming Mall Drive, faces two felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property.
On Dec. 6, Cora Bliss Taylor told state police someone had removed a painting valued at $5,000 from her home while she was away on vacation. According to court records, Taylor told officers that she suspected her daughter, Miller, had removed the piece of art.
Taylor explained that Miller used to live with her but moved out following a disagreement. While Taylor was away on vacation, Miller allegedly contacted her brother and asked him to let her into Kinley's home to retrieve some of her property.
On Dec. 12, police spoke with Miller. She allegedly said she had taken the painting, but claimed it was her property.
Police were unable to verify this, according to the affidavit.
Miller was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on Dec. 19. She since has been released on $5,000 bail.
