Helen Phoenix Matthews, of Williamsport, died Tuesday Dec. 25, 2012, where she lived in Panama City Beach, Fla. She was born April 23, 1932. She passed at the Panama City Nursing Center.
Surviving are her husband, William D. Matthews, of Florida; eight children, Sandy Goodrich, William D. Matthews Jr., Ronald D. Matthews, Terry Neufer, Rose Alter of Williamsport, Vicki Long and Timothy B. Matthews of Florida and Rita Griffith of Indiana. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildre She was also survived by her brother, Harold Phoenix of Cogan Station. There will be no service.
