Ecumenical luncheon

United Churches Wednesday noon ecumenical lunches are held each week of the school year at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St. This Wednesday, the Rev. Kenton Hunt, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church who has been active in Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for many years, will discuss his experiences recently in New York City and some of the reasons Hurrican Sandy recovery will be different and more difficult than other recoveries. A serving of a catered $6 lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. Although reservations are not needed, those not regular attendees should call United Churches at 322-1110 to help the caterer know how many to prepare for.

Devotion line

The United Churches telephone devotion line is available 24 hours a day by calling 322-5762. The devotionalist next week will be Margaret Balliet, state director of John G. Lake Ministries.
