Charles Vincent Callahan Jr. passed away on Thursday Jan. 3, 2013. Born in Williamsport on Dec. 1, 1920, he was the son of Charles V. and Nora Murray Callahan.
Charles was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School and attended the Williamsport Dickinson Seminary. He served in World War II in Lisbon, Portugal as a meteorologist.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Gertrude Callahan; his granddaughter, Shannon Callahan Cowden, and his sister, Jean Callahan Marnon.

Surviving are his children, Charles V. Callahan III of San Francisco, Calif., Richard J. Callahan (Janet) of Williamsport, Joan Callahan of Muncy, and Sharon Callahan Harshberger (Vic) of Monument, Colo.; his grandchildren, R.J. Callahan, Alison Harshberger and Annie Harshberger; his great-grandchildren, Chase Cowden, Connor Cowden and Cooper Cowden; his sister, Eleanor Callahan Desaulniers, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Annunciation Catholic Church on Tuesday Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Monday Jan. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
