JERSEY SHORE - A Porter Township woman will face further court action on charges of breaking into her ex-boyfriend's home and punching him several times in the face, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Gina A. Rhinehart, 32, of 501 Marion St., was intoxicated when she smashed a window to enter Grant Long's home at 410 S. Broad St., on Dec. 13, police said.
Long was not home at the time, but when he arrived at the house, Rhinehart confronted him, throwing kitchen knives at him, punching him numerous times and grabbing him around the neck, police said. Long already had a protection from abuse order filed against her, police said.
In addition to charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering, felony trespassing and criminal mischief, Rhinehart faces an additional charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said that when officers arrived at the house to investigate a domestic disturbance, Rhinehart abandoned her infant daughter, placing her in a crib as she bolted to the attic in an unsuccessful attempt to hide from them.
It was unclear if Rhinehart brought the infant with her when she broke into the house.
Rhinehart, who was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail, has waived her preliminary hearing before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley.
