Diane M. Phelps, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, 72, of Cogan Station, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1940, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna (Cramer) Reidy.
She was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School.
Diane enjoyed going to her grandson's ball games, Notre Dame football games, listening to Elvis, and spending time and caring for her home and family.
Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Max E. Phelps; four children, Kimberly Tillery of Ark., Thomas Hearton of Okla., Kelli Eckard Beiter of Cogan Station, and Kevin (Stacey) Eckard of Cogan Station; local grandchildren, Hayden Beiter, Noah and Ethan Eckard; 10 grandchildren who live out of state; a brother, Michael Reidy of Cogan Station; and two sisters, Margaret Reidy and Connie McInnis both of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter A. Eckard, Jr. in 1979.
Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. A private funeral service will be held Monday with burial in Bloomingrove Cemetery (Dunkard Church).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diane's name may be made to the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
