YMCA selects chief operating officer

The YMCA announced recently that Chad Eberhart has been promoted to the organization's first chief operating officer.

He has held numerous leadership positions within the YMCA organization for the past 13 years. Starting in 1999, he worked at the Milton YMCA, Waynesboro Area YMCA, and has been the branch executive director at the Williamsport Branch YMCA since 2006. Eberhart earned a sports management degree from Slippery Rock University.

New consultant at Towanda office

Hunt Engineers, Architects & Land Surveyors, P.C. announces that Doug Ulkins has joined the firm as the newest member of the professional staff at the firm's Towanda office.

Ulkins is focusing his energies as a consultant to K-12 school districts, using his vast experience as educator and administrator to bring broad perspective to the decisions facing districts throughout the region, a news release said.

He has served in a variety of positions in K-12 in Pennsylvania, including superintendent of the Athens Area School District, Middle School Principal at the Troy area school, and several positions in support and special education at BLaST Intermediate Unit No. 17.

Ulkins also is very active in his community, having served as a director for the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, NY-Penn Leadership, and Martha Lloyd Community Services, Inc. to name a few. He earned his master of science degree in public school administration at Bucknell University, having competed his bachelor of science as teacher of mentally/physically handicapped at Mansfield State College.

Hunt is a 125-person professional consulting firm with offices in Towanda, and Horseheads and Rochester, N.Y., offering comprehensive engineering, architecture, and surveying services to municipal, commercial, and educational clients.
