The Broken Rock Skeet Club/Consolidated Sportsmans' annual Winter League Skeet Shoot will start at noon Jan. 13. A total of 300 birds will be shot. Individuals and teams of five will compete for various prizes every other Sunday for six weeks. For more information, call Ed Kelley at 322-5582.

Beginners Firearms Safety Course: Participants will learn how to safely load a firearm, safely unload a firearm, safe clearing procedures, basic pistol shooting skills, the differences between a revolver and semi-automatic pistol and how to shoot each one, and more. One-day classes will be held 6-9 p.m. Jan. 21; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 19; and 1-4 p.m. Jan. 25.
Level 3 course: Tactical training on firing techniques using a barricade for cover and using Hogan's Alley, a decision-making course of fire used by the FBI; 6-8 p.m. Jan. 28.
