Helen J. Hendershot, 87, of Montoursville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Sycamore Manor. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Hendershot, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.
Helen was born on June 1, 1925, in Renovo, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Jesse W. and Helen J. Lucas Hendershot.
Helen was a member of the St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and dancing to polkas. What Helen will be remembered for by her family is her true willingness and love to help her fellow man. Helen was a true humanitarian.
Helen is survived by a son, Edward W. (Julie A.) Hendershot of Sunbury, Pa.; a daughter, Kathy J. (Stephen) Haight of Williamsport; and by five grandchildren, Bradley Hendershot, Elizabeth Hendershot, Stevie Haight, Brian Haight, Shannon Haight; and by two great-grandchildren, Cy Haight and Zelma Haight.
In Helen's memory, memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Manor Health Center, 1445 Sycamore Road, Montoursville, PA 17754.
Family and friends are invited to attend Helen's graveside service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, Pa. Rev. Robin L. Baer will officiate the service.
