Theresa Mary Mahosky Carlson, 83, passed away on Jan. 13, 2013, at the Green Home in Wellsboro, Pa.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1929, to Frank and Mary Mahosky. Theresa graduated from Morris Run, Pa., High School, Arnot Ogden School of Nursing in Elmira, N.Y., and Mansfield University, Mansfield Pa. She was the Director of Nursing at the Blossburg Hospital. After the hospital closed in 1972, she returned to college to obtain her bachelor's degree and was hired as the Mansfield High School nurse.
Theresa was a member and held offices in the following organizations, St. Mary's Alter and Rosary Society, the Good Samaritans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Supreme Sacrifice Post No. 8730 and the Business and Professional Women. She was very active member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Morris Run and later at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Blossburg, Pa.
Theresa is survived by her six children, Mary Ann Wallinger (George) of Boise, Idaho, Jerry Carlson (Susan), of Raleigh, N.C., Susan Bolt (Roger) of Mainesburg, Pa., Beth Pequignot (Randy) of Liberty, Pa., Gilbert Carlson (Barbara) of Lorton, Va., Michael Carlson (Theresa) of Horseheads, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Joseph Mahosky, Leonard Mahosky, Martin Mahosky and Margaret (Marge) Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin "Bub" Carlson and grandson, Jeffrey Cleveland.
She enjoyed traveling making several trips to Europe. Her hobbies included ceramics, reading and watching Hallmark movies.
Friends will be received at Freeberg Funeral Home, 120 N. Williamson Road, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. from St Mary of Czestochowa Church, Blossburg, with Father Jacek Bialkowski and John J. Chmill con celebrants.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Morris Run, Pa.
